Turn PNG images into smaller JPG files, with a quality slider.

Lower quality = smaller file. 92% is a good balance for most photos.

How to use

  1. Drop a PNG image into the upload box, or click it to pick a file.
  2. Move the quality slider until the size-versus-quality trade-off looks right — 92% suits most images.
  3. Hit Convert to JPG and the new file downloads automatically.

FAQs

Will the JPG look as sharp as my PNG?

At high quality settings the difference is nearly invisible. JPG uses lossy compression, so tiny details can soften if you push the slider very low — stay above 80% when image quality matters.

Why is my converted file still big?

Photos with lots of detail don't compress much. Try lowering the quality a little; each step down shrinks the file noticeably.

My PNG had a transparent background. What happens to it?

JPG can't store transparency, so clear areas become white. The converter fills the background with white before saving.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — your file is never sent to any server.
